요나가 성에서 나가서 그 성 동편에 앉되 거기서 자기를 위하여 초막을 짓고
그 그늘 아래 앉아서 성읍이 어떻게 되는 것을 보려하니라
앗수르는 요나의 나라 북 왕국 이스라엘을 멸망시킬 적국이었다.
그 나라의 수도 니느웨.
앗수르의 상징.
니느웨가 망해야 속이 시원하겠는데.
(한국 사람이 일본이 망해야 속이 시원하듯이)
하나님께서 그 성 사람들이 죄악에서 돌아 서라 전하라 하시니
그 사람들 매우 악한 사람들이니
아무리 외쳐도 죄에서 돌아 설리는 없지만
혹시, 죄에서 돌아서서 하나님이 용서하셔서
망하지 않으면 어쩌나 그게 싫어 도망갔다.
하나님께서 어찌어찌 하셔서 억지로 “니느웨 망한다”고 전파했는데.
이 사람들이 예상과 달리 덜컥 회개를 한 것이다.
물론 하나님의 심판도 받지 않았다.
요나는 너무 너무 기분이 상했다.
하나님께 짜증도 냈다.

1 요나가 심히 싫어하고 노하여
2 여호와께 기도하여 가로되 여호와여 내가 고국에 있을 때에
이러하겠다고 말씀하지 아니하였나이까
그러므로 내가 빨리 다시스로 도망하였사오니
주께서는 은혜로우시며 자비로우시며 노하기를 더디하시며 인애가 크시사
뜻을 돌이켜 재앙을 내리지 아니하시는 하나님이신 줄을 내가 알았음이니이다
그래도 이 니느웨 사람들 악한 사람들이니
틀림없이 다시 죄를 짓고 벌 받을 거야.
내눈으로 심판을 받아 망하는 꼴을 봐야지 하고
초막을 짓고 살면서 망하는 모습을 보려고 기다렸다.
그러나 요나는 니느웨의 멸망을 눈으로는 보지 못했다.
니느웨는 오랜 후 요나가 죽은 후 망했다.
요나의 시간과 하나님의 시간은 그 스케일이 전혀 다르다.
Timing도 다르다.
나사로가 죽어 간다고 마르다 마리아가 애타서 불렀을 때 예수님은
나사로가 죽도록 이틀을 기다리셨다.
마르다, 마리아, 나사로를 사랑하셨다고 했음에도 불구하고
(요한복음 11:5,6)
5 예수께서 본래 마르다와 그 동생과 나사로를 사랑하시더니
6 나사로가 병들었다 함을 들으시고 그 계시던 곳에 이틀을 더 유하시고
나의 시간과 하나님의 시간은 엄청나게 다르다
나의 Time frame과 하나님의 Time frame은 엄청나게 다르다.
Timing도 전혀 다르다.

믿음의 사람은 하나님의 Time frame을 기다릴 줄 아는 사람이다.
믿음의 사람들이 그렇게 살았다고 히브리서는 말하고 있다.
믿음의 연습은 하나님의 Timing을 기다리는 연습이다.

13 이 사람들은 다 믿음을 따라 죽었으며 약속을 받지 못하였으되 그것들을 멀리서 보고 환영하며
또 땅에서는 외국인과 나그네로라 증거하였으니
39 이 사람들이 다 믿음으로 말미암아 증거를 받았으나 약속을 받지 못하였으니
40 이는 하나님이 우리를 위하여 더 좋은 것을 예비하셨은즉
우리가 아니면 저희로 온전함을 이루지 못하게 하려 하심이니라
물론 나의 Time frame이 하나님의 Time frame과 맞지 않는 경우가 아주 많아서
답답하고 마음이 힘 드는 때가 많다.
주님께서 다시 오신다는 약속도 그렇다.

체질이 뜨거운 불에 풀어지고 땅과 그 중에 있는 모든 일이 드러나리로다
요즘의 현상을 보면 주님 오실 때가 가까운 것으로 보이는 데
(Corona-19 발생 등등)
그것 역시 하나님의 Time frame에 맞추어서
하나님의 주권으로 이루시리라 믿는다.
하기는 내가 살아 있는 일생 동안 이루어지지 않는다면
영원히 성취되지 않는 것과 같다.
영생의 믿음이 없다면 그렇다.
영생의 소망이 없다면 그렇다.
